METALCON 2025 in Las Vegas brought together the best and brightest in the metal construction industry — and Helix Metalforming delivered one of the event’s standout educational experiences.
As both a board member organization and featured educator, Helix played a prominent role this year. President Jared Hamburger and Project Manager Darren Cocca led the highly anticipated hands-on workshop, Advanced Techniques in Metalforming: Metal Crown Moulding, offering contractors an immersive learning experience focused on precision craftsmanship and advanced installation methods.
Held in Meeting Room S228, the session went far beyond a traditional lecture format. Attendees participated in live demonstrations followed by mock-up practice, giving them the opportunity to work through real-world installation scenarios under expert guidance. The interactive format allowed contractors to refine techniques, ask detailed questions, and gain practical experience they can immediately apply in the field.
Emceed by Ashley Muir, owner of the branding agency Wldfyr, the workshop covered a comprehensive range of advanced applications, including:
- Metal Crown Moulding Installation – with a focus on Greek Cornice applications requiring soffit-mounted crown moulding
- Window Trim Installation – achieving precise, seamless finishes
- Greek Cornice Returns – detailing techniques for high-end architectural impact
- Zinc Roof Installation – mastering finer detailing and hand clip techniques using hand tools
- Board & Batten Wall Panel Installation – installation methods that balance strength and design versatility
- Flush Panel Soffit Installation with a Reveal – delivering clean, modern architectural lines
Participants left with more than just new ideas — they walked away with sharpened technical skills, deeper confidence, and actionable techniques for both restoration and new construction projects.
Metal crown moulding and architectural detailing demand a level of precision that separates standard installations from exceptional craftsmanship. By mastering these advanced techniques, contractors can:
- Achieve historical accuracy in restoration work
- Execute modern architectural designs with refined precision
- Increase installation durability and longevity
- Expand their capabilities to pursue higher-value projects
The workshop also provided added professional value, awarding 4.0 AIA LU HSW credits, reinforcing Helix’s commitment not just to innovation, but to advancing industry education.
METALCON 2025 proved to be an energizing event for the industry — and Helix Metalforming didn’t just participate in the conversation. They helped lead it. Through education, mentorship, and hands-on training, Helix once again demonstrated its dedication to elevating craftsmanship across the metal construction community.
Helix Metalforming is heading west! From October 21–23, we’re bringing our craft, innovation, and industry insights to Las Vegas for METALCON 2025—the largest international event dedicated to metal in design and construction. Hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center, this year’s show promises more learning, more networking, and more ways to see metal in action than ever before.
Whether you’re a contractor, architect, engineer, or designer, METALCON is where the future of metal construction comes to life—and Helix Metalforming is proud to be part of the excitement. Visit our booth for live demonstrations, one-on-one consultations, and an inside look at our latest product innovations—from architectural wall panels and custom edge metal to our new Paxton Collection metal crown moulding, available in Aluminum, Zinc, Copper, and Steel. Discover how we’re shaping the next generation of building design with precision and style.
This year’s METALCON lineup is packed. From 275+ exhibitors to 35+ free education sessions offering CEUs, it’s three full days of hands-on discovery and growth. The show kicks off with keynotes by Medal of Honor recipient Clint Romesha and economic analyst Alex Chausovsky, and includes in-depth panels, product showcases, and special events like Metal and Mimosas and the State of the Industry panel hosted by the MCA.
For hands-on pros, the Training Zone is back—sponsored by Sherwin-Williams—offering live demos in both English and Spanish on roof systems, tool techniques, and high-precision detailing with materials like steel, aluminum, copper, and zinc. Helix will be right in the mix, engaging with attendees and showcasing what makes our craftsmanship and custom fabrication capabilities stand out.
This year, Helix is also getting involved beyond the booth—we’re rolling up our sleeves to lead hands-on specialty metal training as part of METALCON’s in-depth education lineup. Catch us in action during the Advanced Metal Exterior Installation Techniques for Roofing & Building Contractors workshop, where we’ll be sharing best practices, tips, and on-site strategies for complex exterior installs. We’re proud to be part of a program that elevates skills, encourages craftsmanship, and pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with metal.
Beyond business, Helix is proud to be part of an event that gives back. METALCON continues its support of Semper Fi & America’s Fund, with a portion of proceeds from events like the Valley of Fire outdoor excursion donated directly to support veterans. On the final day, the community will come together for a special check presentation—a powerful reminder of what this industry can achieve together.
Heading to Vegas? Stop by the Helix Metalforming booth and see how our team is pushing the limits of design, durability, and detail. From product demos to expert insight, we’re here to help you build boldly—with metal that performs as beautifully as it looks.
